Booking an appointment

When reporting a repair, we will need:

  • Your name
  • Your address and telephone number
  • An idea of when you will be available to provide access
  • Details of the repair including what the problem is, where it is and the make of the defective item.

We will go through a series of questions with you to establish the severity of the problem, its impact on the household and whether you are eligible for the repair.



When contacting us to report a repair we will organise an appointment for our repairs team to attend at the time that is convenient for you. If we have a mobile phone number for you, you will receive a text message confirming your appointment and a reminder text on the day of the appointment.

The following appointment slots are available (Monday to Friday)

  • 8am - 12:30pm
  • 12:30pm - 17:00pm
  • 8am – 4.30pm (all day app)
  • 9.30am – 2.30pm (avoid school run)

Please be at home on the day of the appointment so we can carry out the repair for you. If we call to do the repair and you are not at home you may be charged for this.


Check who's calling

All our colleagues wear photo ID. Always ask to see this ID before allowing anyone into your home on behalf of Irwell Valley Homes. If you're in any doubt, keep them out and call us on 0300 561 1111 to check who they are. 

Complex repairs

Some repairs are complicated and cannot be easily diagnosed over the phone. In these cases, one of our property inspectors will need to visit to look at the job and decide what we need to do to fix it. If we need to do this, an appointment will be booked with you over the phone.


How to report a repair

We offer lots of ways for you to report a repair to us, just choose the option that works best for you.

  • The quickest way to book and manage your repairs is using our mobile app. Download it from your app store and log in using your tenancy sequence number (which you can find on your rent statement or tenancy agreement) and your email address.

However you choose to report a repair, we will respond to you Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm, Friday 8am - 5pm. If you need to report an emergency repair outside these hours please call us and our out of hours team will be able to help (this emergency service is telephone only).
